Marquest Scientific LG-DDR-R2 Recirculating Lab Gooseneck Faucet: Engineered for Purity and Performance
The LG-DDR-R2 is a specific configuration of Marquest Scientific's Recirculating Lab Gooseneck Faucet, designed for deck-mount applications in high purity environments. This model features a Duraline control valve, a recirculating control module with 3/8" fem NPT inlet x outlet, and a handle positioned on the right. The faucet is constructed from natural polypropylene, ensuring compatibility with high purity liquids such as Type I, II Deionized, RO, and Ultra Filtered Water.
Recirculation System The LG-DDR-R2 incorporates a recirculation system that reduces bacterial growth and other biological impurities caused by stagnation. By providing continuous liquid motion during all phases of operation, this faucet helps maintain a high level of purity and performance.
Construction for High Purity Environments The LG-DDR-R2 is constructed with an all-virgin natural polypropylene wetted fluid path and PTFE seals, making it suitable for use in high purity environments. No elastomers, metals, or lubricants are used in the construction, ensuring the highest level of purity. The heavy wall construction and smooth internal flow path contribute to its long-lasting performance and reliability.
Efficient and User-Friendly Design The LG-DDR-R2 offers several features that streamline installation and operation:
Compliance with Industry Standards The LG-DDR-R2 is designed to meet FDA, USDA, and USP standards, ensuring compliance with industry requirements for high purity applications. With a max flow of 2.5 GPM @ 80 PSI and no elastomers, metals, or lubricants used in construction, this faucet delivers reliable performance and purity.
System Design Considerations The LG-DDR-R2 is designed for use with a recirculating system that incorporates a non-pressurized storage tank or reservoir. The non-pressurized tank provides the pressure drop for the recirculating flow to continue and return via the recirculating tube, ensuring that the water is not actually consumed.
To reduce stagnation and bacterial growth, the LG-DDR-R2 maintains a constant flow of DI Water when the point-of-use dispense is not being utilized. Ideally, the flow rate of the recirculating flow stream should be 4.5 feet per second or greater to prevent bacteria and other biomass from adhering to internal surfaces.
When piping the recirculating lab faucet in series, a common return line may be used to accept each individual recirculating tube. A small pressure drop downstream of each faucet may be necessary to assure a positive flow through the recirculating system and provide adequate pressure for the main water dispensing.
